WORK SCOPE
To remove sand and glauconite from process and separation
vessels aboard Apache's Stag Production Platform. The solids
discharge were to be to be 'cleaned' sufficiently to remove
the oil from the solids to allow discharge to shore based
landfill.
The work scope included design, specification, fabrication,
installation and commissioning.
Design and construct a centrifuge with all wetted parts constructed
of Stainless Steel capable of removing the coarse sands and
fine glauconite.
Capacity of the system was to remove 20 tonnes of solids
each day, and remove particles down to 10 microns from process
stream.
After installation and Commissioning the Sand Handling package
was so successful that all solids removed from vessels and
tanks on the platform were processed through the Package.
Capacity of the centrifuge peaked at 11.5 tonnes in a 3 hour
operating window.
Continuous testing of the solids removed proved them to have
low impurities content of oil and suitable for disposal at
a local landfill.
